At Kaleside Bothy, we have been making traditional homemade Scottish tablet for many years — long before it became a business. In 2025, we proudly turned this much-loved craft into an official venture, and we have been truly grateful for the wonderful support we have received since.

Julie is the heart and hands behind every batch of our tablet. After more than 30 years of service in the NHS, she now devotes her time to creating the rich, crumbly tablet our customers know and love. Based in the picturesque village of Morebattle, Julie balances tablet-making with time spent with her four grandchildren, and still enjoys the occasional NHS shift for a touch of familiar workplace camaraderie.

Andrea, Julie’s daughter, manages the day-to-day running of the business. From customer enquiries and orders to administration and organisation, Andrea ensures everything runs smoothly from her home in the beautiful Yarrow Valley, alongside part-time work and caring for her young children.
